Check out the first trailer for the upcoming movie “Young Woman and the Sea,” starring Daisy Ridley. The sports movie hits theaters May 31.  “Young Woman and the Sea” tells the true story of competitive swimmer and Olympian Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, the movie highlights Ederle, was the first woman ever to swim across the English Channel. She won a gold model in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games and the movie is based on the book “Young Woman and the Sea: How Trudy Ederle Conquered the English Channel and Inspired the World.” Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Christopher Eccleston, Glenn Fleshler Stephen Graham and Kim Bodnia also star.
