Synopsis: At Chester’s cottage, good behavior earns karaoke. Getting answers is a little more complicated. After a mysterious apocalyptic(ish) attack leaves them bloodied, disoriented, and unable to speak, Liam (Joey Bader) and Mel (Kaylee McGregor) take refuge in the English countryside. Their oddball host, Chester (Oliver Woolf), feeds them, helps them recover, and introduces a system of rewards: behave yourself, earn “nifties,” cash them in for hot-tub time and dance parties. Beyond the cottage, things are less nifty. But within it, a makeshift family is taking shape. While Liam embraces their new life, Mel grows increasingly curious about the world Chester insists is too dangerous to enter… In their feature debut, directors Scott Tinkham and Michael Woloson mix deadpan comedy, sibling rivalry, and creeping unease in a coming-of-age story about people who have to grow up all over again.
