The “Vicious” episode, titled “A Year,” charts a year in the lives of the beloved couple Freddie and Stuart, and their friends Violet, Ash, Penelope and Mason. The series stars Ian McKellen, Derek Jacobi, Frances de la Tour and Iwan Rheon.
The episode opens in springtime, when Freddie and Stuart attempt to hide their recently gained inheritance, while Violet faces financial troubles after her recent divorce and Ash struggles to meet his rent. Signs of Freddie and Stuart’s expenditures soon threaten the pretense as their home is overrun with guests.
In summer, it’s Freddie’s birthday party and an unexpected card arrives. Stuart prepares a very special present, Violet has a surprising announcement, and Ash and Penelope share a secret. Then, in autumn, Ash arrives at Freddie and Stuart’s flat with news, while in winter the gang gathers round at Christmas to experience Freddie’s latest acting job.
