‘Finding Dory’ tops the weekend box office with $76 million worldwide

Dory may be lost in reel land but audiences are having no trouble finding her as Disney’s “Finding Dory” continues to dominate the box office. The sequel to “Finding Nemo” took in and $76 worldwide pushing it over the $500 million mark. 

 In second place was “The Legend of Tarzan” with $56.9 million total.” “The Purge:Election Year,” “The BFG” and “Independence Day: Resurgence” rounded out the Top 5.

  4. BFG, The – Disney – $19.6M
  5. Independence Day: Resurgence – 20th Century Fox – $16.5M
  6. Central Intelligence – Warner Bros. – $12.3M
  7. Shallows, The – Sony – $9.0M
  8. Free State Of Jones – STX Entertainment – $4.1M
  9. Conjuring 2, The – Warner Bros. – $3.9M
  10. Now You See Me 2 – Lionsgate – $3.0M
  11. Swiss Army Man – A24 – $1.4M
  12. Our Kind Of Traitor – Roadside Attractions – $1.0M
