George Porter Jr, Billy Sheehan and John Taylor among attendees at Bass Player Live on October 22 and October 23

Bass Player LIVE! 2016 will take place at SIR Studios in Hollywood on October 22 and Sunday, October 23. The two event will include exhibits by top gear manufacturers and clinics by world-class bassists. In addition to the event, there will be an all-star concert to be held on the evening of October 22, at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. The event will feature this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, George Porter Jr., Billy Sheehan, and Tim Bogert, and special guests.

The Meters and funk founder George Porter, Jr. will accept his award from bassist/American Idol superstar Randy Jackson and then perform with his trio plus special guests at the All-Star Concert on October. 22, as well as host a clinic at SIR on October 23.

Billy Sheehan will accept his award from Bass icon and 2006 Bass Player Lifetime Achievement Recipient Stanley Clarke at the BPL concert on Saturday night and then perform with his band plus special guests at the All-Star Concert on October. 22, as well as host a clinic at SIR on October, 23.

Tim Bogert will accept his award and perform in Billy Sheehan’s set.

A performance clinic by Oskar Cartaya debuting music from his much-anticipated upcoming solo album

A funk throwdown clinic by Cincinnati-based Bootsy protégé Freekbass

Stonefield Basses and Freekbass will debut a short film at the BPL concert on Saturday night; and Paz Lenchantin, Ben Kenney, Jack Casady, Steve DiGiorgio, Tanya O’Callaghan, Matt McJunkins, and Bunny Brunel join the growing appearing artist list.
