The Voice Season 12 Live playoffs part 2 recap


The Voice Season 12 is in full swing with the live playoff this week. The playoffs brings back voting in real time. On Monday, April 17 featured performances were by Team Blake Shelton and Team Alicia Keys. On Tuesday, April 18 the performances were from Team Adam Levine and Team Gwen Stefani. Here is the recap of the live playoffs Part 2.

First up was Team Gwen which consists of Johnny Gates, Troy Ramey, Quizz Swanigan, J Chosen, Hunter Plake and Brennley Brown.

Johnny Gates performed the song “Hands to Myself” By Selena Gomez. Johnny was Gwen’s comeback artist. Alicia said that she likes his energy. Gwen loves his incredible spirit. He is a great front man, creative with songs and is the real deal.

Troy Ramey performed the song “A Case of You” by Joni Mitchell. Adam said that he is one of the best in the competition. Gwen said that he conquered the melody and had so much confidence.

Quizz Swanigan performed “My Girl” by The Temptations. Gwen said that he is magical.

Brennley Brown performed “Fly” by Maddie & Tae. Blake said that he made a mistake by letting her go, because she is so good. Gwen said that she is learning so much from her and is so grateful.

J Chosen performed “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Prince. Alicia said that he had a lot of confidence. Gwen said that it was incredible and magical.

Hunter Plake performed “Elastic Heart” by Sia. Adam said that he is so good, there has never been anyone like him and he reflects what is happening in the culture. Gwen said that she was blown away, unbelievable, he mastered it.

Next up were performances by Team Adam which consists of Johnny Hayes, Hanna Eyre, Jesse Larson, Josh West, Mark Isaiah and Lilli Passero.

First up was Johnny Hayes. Johnny was Adam’s comeback artist. He performed “Ain’t too Proud to Beg” by the Temptations /The Rolling Stones version. Adam said that he was amazing.

Hanna Eyre performed “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato. Adam said that she is the sweetest person, so powerful, young and awesome.

Josh West performed “More than a Feeling” by Boston. Adam said that he is so good and one 18 year old with a voice like that.

Mark Isaiah performed “All Time Low” by Jon Bellion. Adam said it was great but he needs more time with the guy.

Lilli Passero performed “It’s Too Late” by Carole King Alicia said that she never breaks her gaze and she loves how she sang the song.Adam said that is amazing that he even has her on his team.

Jesse Larson performed “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder. Adam said that was the best vocal of the night.

The finals results were Team Gwen: Hunter and, Brennley were saved by America’s vote. Gwen saved Troy. For Team Adam: Lilli and Jesse were saved by America’s vote. Adam saved Mark.

The Top 12 will perform on Monday, April 24th. The Top 12 contestants are:
