The Voice” Season 13 has their winner. Rocker Chloe Kohanski took home the trophy and the $100,000 prize and a record deal thanks to her powerhouse vocals and the skills of her coach, six-time “The Voice” winner Blake Shelton.

Shelton has won the competition six times, more than any other coach in the show’s history. Despite his wins, teaming with Shelton seemed odd on paper for Kohanski but in the end, she was right where she needed to be.

“When she was on that stage she knows what she wants to be and what she wants to look like,” Shelton said of Kohanski’s popularity with the audience week after week. “I mean we’ve seen that. She was at a very different level of thinking than I’ve worked with on this show. Every time she walked out onto that stage in the last few weeks I’m like “Whoa, look at that hair. Look at that outfit.” She’s keeping us engaged. She is keeping people excited. She’s keeping people guessing.

Of Shelton’s support, Kohanski said “This is just a catapult into what is hopefully a very creative process for me as an artist and working with Blake. I’m very excited.”

The Nashville native beat out fellow Team Blake member Red Marlow, who finished in 4th place, Brooke Simpson of Team Miley who landed in third place and runner-up Team Adam’s Addison Agen. The star-studded evening featured performances by Bastille, Vince Gill, Jessie J, Norah Jones, Bebe Rexha, Sia and last year’s Voice winner Chris Blue who was introduced by his coach Alicia Keyes who returns to the coaches chair for Season 14 alongside Shelton, Adam Levine and new coach Kelly Clarkson

Kohanski was paired up with one of her idols, rock legend Billy Idol, to perform his classic hit “White Wedding.”

Kohanski was once of the few Season 13 contestants who had a constant presence on the iTunes chart with her renditions of   Stevie Nicks’ “Landslide,” Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” Blondie’s “Call Me” and Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which helped solidify her win.

Kohanski debuted her original song on Monday’s performance show entitled “Wish I Didn’t Love You.”
