“General Hospital” has released a promo to celebrate their 55th Anniversary on April 1. The promo features some of the show’s iconic moments including Helen Cassidine (Elizabeth Taylor) putting a course of Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) wedding. That 1981 wedding remains the most watch soap moment in television history with more than 30 million viewers.
“General Hospital” will celebrate its 55th anniversary on April 1, 2018. It is both the longest-running American soap opera currently in production and the longest running scripted television drama currently in production. This year, “General Hospital” won the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama for a record 13th time. “General Hospital” was created by Frank and Doris Hursley. Frank Valentini is the executive producer.
“General Hospital” airs weekdays on The ABC Television Network.
