TVMUSIC NETWORK REMEMBERS JAZZ LEGEND ELLIS MARSALIS

ELLIS MARSALIS

TVMusic Network remembers jazz legend, Ellis Marsalis. The musician, who was the father of sons Wynton Marsalis and Bradford Marsalis, passed away this week from an illness of pneumonia brought on by Coronavirus. The pianist and educator taught many prominent musicians including Terence Blanchard, Harry Connick Jr., and Nicholas Payton.

Marsalis was the father of musician sons, trumpeter Wynton, saxophonist Bradford, trombonist Delfeayo, drummer Jason, and Ellis III and MBoya.

Marsalis, who often performed with his sons, can be seen below as a part of the PBS series Jazz at Lincoln Center.
