TVMUSIC NETWORK REMEMBERS FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE’S ADAM SCHLESINGER

TVMusic Network remembers Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger who passed away earlier this week of Coronavirus complications.

Schlesinger was a prolific songwriter and composer. In addition to playing in the band Fountains of Wayne, he worked on televisions and movies including “My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which earned him back to back Emmys and the Tom Hanks-directed movie “That Thing You Do!.” which the title track earned Schlesinger an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. The movie focuses on a fictional small-town band who becomes a sensation in the 60s with the song “That Thing You Do!”

At the time of his death, Schlesinger was writing the music for the upcoming musical version of “The Nanny” for Broadway with his “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” collaborator Rachel Bloom.
