The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020 Induction debuts Saturday, November, 7 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO and to stream on HBO Max.
The special presentation will honor this year’s inductees: Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T.Rex, and Ahmet Ertegun Award honorees Jon Landau and Irving Azoff. This special event is in lieu of the live Induction Ceremony originally scheduled for May 2 of this year.
The special will feature guests including Luke Bryan, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Miley Cyrus, Billy Gibbons, Dave Grohl, Don Henley, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Idol, Iggy Pop, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Chris Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brad Paisley, Bruce Springsteen, St. Vincent, Ringo Starr, Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, Nancy Wilson and more, all highlighting the importance and influence of the 2020 Inductees.
Dave Grohl kicks off the show with a heartfelt introduction to this year’s class of inductees, and the special guests will speak further on how the 2020 Inductees impacted their personal and professional careers.
Notorious B.I.G. was inducted into The Rock Hall. A video played which included all about his career in the business, clips of past performances and past interviews with him. NAS, Lin Manuel Miranda, his mom Voletta Wallace and Sean Diddy Comb who did the induction. Notorious B.I.G. whose real name is Christopher Wallace is the 7th rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is known for his hit songs “Big Poppa”, “Mo Money Mo Problems” and “Hypnotize”
Accepting the award for the late rapper were his two children T’yanna, and C.J. T’yanna talked about not getting to know her dad well as she was only three years old when he passed away, but through her family and his fans she was able to see how his music transcended through the hip hop industry.
C.J. stated that “Our father was one of the founding fathers of hip hop,” C.J. says. “He helped revolutionize what was a young artform for the Black community and the world. I’m honored to share his name and his dedication to Black music, creativity, self-expression and Black freedom.”
