ANA GABRIEL, EMILIA, EVALUNA, GOYO & THALIA to perform at BILLBOARD MUJERES LATINAS EN LA MÚSICA

Billboard and Telemundo have announced Ana Gabriel, Emilia, Evaluna, Goyo and Thalia will take the stage to perform at Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música. Hosted by Ivy Queen and Jacqueline Bracamontes, the first-ever Latin Women in Music event will take place at Watsco Center in Miami, FL, to be taped on Saturday, May 6, 2023 and air on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 9 PM/8 CT on Telemundo and Universo. The show will also stream simultaneously on the Telemundo app and on Peacock.

The two-hour music special will celebrate Latin female artists, executives and creatives who are proactively working for positive change, inclusion and gender parity in the music industry. Tickets to attend Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música live in Miami on May 6 are on sale now. For more information and to purchase visit BillboardMujeresEnLaMusica.com.

The previously announced honorees, now also set to perform, will be honored with awards that recognize their unique contributions:

Grammy-nominated Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Gabriel will be recognized as the Living Legend. With 30 albums on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, a sold-out global tour, and an arsenal of songs composed entirely on her own, Ana is an example for all singer-songwriters and producers of Latin music.

Urban pop superstar Emilia will receive the Rising Star Award. From being a member of the pop group Rombai to her solo career, in just three years, she has reached Number 1 on the charts in her native Argentina and is now preparing to release her solo album around the world.
Venezuelan actress and recording artist Evaluna will receive the Tradition and Future Award for maintaining alive the musical and artistic tradition of her family even as she nourishes her own successful solo career and balances motherhood in real-time. Between her father being prolific singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner, her mother director Marlene Rodríguez Miranda, brothers the recording artists Ricardo and Mauricio Montaner (known as the Mau y Ricky duo), marriage to Camilo and raising her daughter Indigo, she is living proof that art and family go hand in hand.

Afro-Colombian singer and rapper Goyo will be recognized as the Agent of Change for shining a positive light through her music and activism on equal rights, particularly for women and for Afro-Latinos, who for decades have been underrepresented both in her native Colombia and throughout the world.
“Queen of Latin Pop,” and singer, actress, composer, producer and entrepreneur Thalia is this year’s Global Powerhouse. She has been successful in each of her fields and throughout the world with few voices and faces better known than hers. Since 1995, she has placed 13 top 10s on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums list and four Number 1, one of the very few women to reach the top of the Billboard charts. Now, she has released the album Thalia’s Mixtape and the series Thalia’s Mixtape El Soundtrack de mi Vida, on Paramount+.

The inaugural Latin Women in Music event was announced earlier this year as an expansion of Billboard’s Women in Music franchise. Billboard and Telemundo aim to further elevate Latin music globally and celebrate the women who have made a concrete impact on Latin music through their artistic achievements, or through tangible, noteworthy actions that have brought measurable recognition and opportunity to women, effecting positive change to the industry as a whole.

Additional information about Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música, including presenters and the highly-anticipated Woman of the Year honoree, will be announced in the coming weeks.
