Connie Britton to star in Ryan Murphy’s ‘9-1-1’

Connie Britton is returning to television full-time. The actress, last seen as Rayna James on “Nashville,” will star in FOX’s new drama, “9-1-1.”

The series, set to premiere in 2018, comes from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk who brought the “American Horror Story” franchise,  “Nip/Tuck” and “Glee.”

Britton joins previously announced cast members, Angela Bassett and Peter Krause.

“9-1-1” explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics, and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
