FOX has announced the list of shows not returning for the 2019 – 2020 fall season. Not returning are comedies “The Cool Kids,” “Rel” and dramas “Star,” “The Passage,” “Lethal Weapon and “The Gifted.”
“Lethal Weapon” had a strong debut but problems behind the scenes led to a recast of one of its leads and series star Damon Wayans announcing his intention to leave the series at the end of his 13 episode contract in the show’s third season.
“Star,” Lee Daniel’s sister series to mega-hit “Empire,” focused on the making of a superstar girl’s group hoping to remain their new found success starring Queen Latifah and Brandy Norwood.
“The Cool Kids” starred comedy vets David Alan Grier, Martin Mull, Leslie Jordan, and Vicki Lawrence.
“The Passage” which was based on Justin Cronin’s book series, starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Saniyya Sidney. The show had a lot of buzz during the start of the season but ultimately was axed.
FOX will announce their 2019 – 2020 fall season next week at their upfront presentation in New York.
